Our commitment to improving our community led to the founding of the nationally recognized and award winning Football Camp for the Stars. The Football Camp for the Stars is for young men with Down Syndrome who love football. With instruction from the Valley Christian football coaching staff, NFL football players and coaches, along with college players and coaches, athletes learn the fundamentals that put them in the middle of the action, resulting in an authentic football experience.
Mike Machado, Founder of Football Camp for the Stars and Valley Christian High School's football coach received the President's Award from the National Down Syndrome Congress for establishing the Football Camp for the Stars. Mike and his wife, Soseek are the owners of Chicago Steak and Fish.
Coach Machado's Valley Christian Players have been selected to the U.S. Army All American Bowl, the longest-running active high school All-American game. This bowl selects 90 of the nation's top high school football players for an East versus West matchup. |
